Mariel Rodriguez speaks up about Princess Manzon’s rumored rudeness
During a pictorial for Velvet’s Tribute to The Oscar’s, Mariel Rodriguez had a nice chat with ABS-CBN.com in between breaks and she expressed how happy she is for Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco whose launching realiserye Melason In Love is doing really well based on the TV ratings. When asked to give her opinion about PBB Double Up’s hottest love team, the bubbly/actress host was quick to say that Melai and Jason’s much-publicized romance is for real. “It’s genuine. Pero kasi iba yung ‘Big Brother love’, when you're inside it's different. So we’ll know (if it will really last) mga months from now kasi nga nandun pa sila sa phase na yun e. They're still living there (inside Kuya’s house) so hindi mo pa talaga masasabi kung ano kasi paglabas it's really different. Pero mukha namang ok yung sa kanila,” she began.
There are some people, however, who believe that Jason and Melai’s attitude towards one another looks contrived. There are those who even claim that the two are aware of their popularity amongst the masses even while they were still inside the house. “It’s not scripted. I’m so tired na. Ilang season na yung PBB. Utang na loob next question please. Promise, I swear to God. It’s really not scripted. This is what happens. We create a scenario and it depends on the housemates how they really act on the situation. That part is not scripted. We don’t do the dialogues or we don’t tell them to do this and that. They’re given this task and set-up, ganon lang.”
New controversies about other housemates have also surfaced particularly the one involving Princess Manzon who has been known for her strong personality when it comes to expressing herself. Rumor has it though that she has been snubbing certain showbiz personalities for no reason at all. Mariel refused to deny or confirm the issue but she went on to explain, “No, I don’t think intentionally nang-aasar siya (kung totoong mahilig siyang mangdedma or umirap). I think it’s just really her personality. Or maybe she just doesn’t know how it is in the industry. Kasi the industry naman is not for everyone eh. And PBB is not a talent search like Pilipinas Got Talent or Showtime. So we cannot expect them to be able to adapt to showbiz na ganon lang. Yung iba mas nahihirapan sila.”
On her final note, Mariel remarked that Princess should make an effort to be nice towards the people around her if she plans to pursue a career in show business. Or at the very least, be careful with her actions so that others wouldn’t misinterpret her intentions. “Because one thing is for sure, the industry will not adjust for her. So if she wants to stay, she has to adjust. It's not gonna be the other way around,” she stressed.
